House of Shock: New Orleans
I got the opportunity (it was my first time..) to see the final show at The House of Shock in New Orleans. This is their final year and let me tell you, if you missed it you missed out on some of the best detail I've ever seen in a haunt.
The evening began with a "freak show" gentlemen who was driving nails, condoms and a drill up his nose as well as spinning with a brief case attached to his nipples and tongue. Next up after him was the show telling the story about the house complete with pyrotechnics and Jesus Christ on a cross. After that they opened the "flood gates", or as we like to call it in the industry a "conga line" to see the house. Oh my god I was in heaven. The detail from floor to ceiling was immaculate as well as the actors not breaking character and every inch of skin was covered in either makeup or costume.
I'm really sad to see it go, but so happy I got to experience the HELL that went on during the show.

Fort Worth food truck park
This small park is tucked off behind White Settlement road. Park along the street and walk up to covered seating lined with about 4 Food Trucks on either side. They do take credit cards (thank god). The ground is covered in gravel so watch your step because there's a few places you can trip. The band last night created a great mood - A hip saxophone player. We tried different things from 4 different trucks which were all pretty good. Worth the trip out there to experience it.
There was one truck in particular (I cant for the life of me remember the name) that sold "Mexican Trash" on the menu. We tried a mild order and a spicy order of mexican trash as well as 4 different "street tacos" on their menu. The PORK tacos were SO GOOD!

TFW 2014
Ahh yes, we're back for 2014 TEXAS FRIGHTMARE WEEKEND!!! This year was a blast as usual. Can I tell you how excited I was to meet DEE (freaking) SNIDER! Well, this was the first person I've met after all 5 years of attending TFW that I was actually nervous and shaking. Weird huh?
Second person I got to meet this year was John Kassir, the voice of the Crypt Keeper. He called my sister his "ghoul-friend" and I got to hear that oh-so-familiar Crypt Keeper laugh.
